The official Xbox Twitter account tweets support for LGBTQ pride month, with fans offering some hilarious reactions. LGBTQ gamers and allies were quick to shut anyone down for disagreeing with Xbox’s inclusive stance.
Recently, someone popped up on Twitter pretending to be Xbox support. The troll gets around Twitter impersonator rules by clearly labeling itself as a parody account. Yet the troll tweets some x-rated content and harasses the Fleet, and worse, Xbox customers. In response, the team educates the customer base as best as it can. Xbox Support have been busy helping out the Xbox One users with several console related problems and now Xbox team itself is in need of help from Xbox Support. Official Xbox Twitter Account Tweets.
In 2017, Xbox supported London LGBTQ Pride, with a LAN Party that took place during the event.
Xbox LGBTQ Pride Support Offers Funny Responses
To celebrate the start of June, which is LGBTQ Pride month, the official Xbox Twitter account posted a tweet that said “Play with Pride,” with the #Pride2019 hashtag. The account also showed an image of eight custom Xbox One controllers in the colors of the lesbian pride, bisexual pride, transgender pride flags, as well as a rainbow colored Xbox icon.
The tweet doesn’t have a link to buy the controllers. However, Xbox fans can design these controllers on the Xbox Design Lab website. You can also add an engraving if you’d like to add a message supporting LGBTQ Pride too.
There were many positive replies to the tweet, such as one from a user named Brett who said that they “fully support Xbox who supports diversity”. The Xbox account replied to that to say “When everybody plays we all win.” A user named Jared said “Love it, equal rights to all! Great job, Xbox!” and the Xbox account thanked them for spreading the love, also sending a GIF of a group hug.
However, there were a few upset people who weren’t happy with Xbox’ support of LGBTQ Pride and said that they would be selling their Xbox One consoles and going to PS4s. Those who had something negative to say were quickly reminded that PlayStation has also supported LGBTQ Pride and many major PS4 exclusives, such as The Last of Us Part 2, have LGBTQ characters.
Nintendo has also supported LGBTQ Pride and Microsoft makes the Windows operating system used for PC gaming. Apple, which creates the MacOS also used by some gamers, is run by Tim Cook who is an openly gay man. Most companies’ support of LGBTQ Pride is because of capitalism and to make money from LGBTQ people but seeing so many anti-LGBTQ people unsuccessfully find new games platforms to move to is something to laugh about at least.
